Purpose

Advancing Global Research on Human Emotion.

The Emotion Research Institute is dedicated to researching, educating and applying new ideas to the research field of emotion and to show people how connecting to emotion can improve health and wellbeing in everyday life. We have a vision to put emotion research on the map and to make Perth, Western Australia, the global centre for Research on Emotion.

Our aim is to establish a purpose-built research institute, comprising of state-of-the-art multidisciplinary research teams focused on emotion. The Institute welcomes perspectives from neurology, biology, psychology, physiology, sociology, anthropology and ecology to generate hypotheses to investigate how connecting to emotion improves health and well-being in humans.

This type of facility will attract scientists and scholars from all over the world to contribute to a global conversation on emotion research. Our purpose is to empower scientists from all disciplines to investigate new ideas and hypotheses to advance humanity’s understanding of emotion both academically and practically in everyday life.

The Emotion Research Institute has access to 25 years of clinical evidence that connecting to emotion has significant health benefits and our aim is to examine and seek to explain the reason for this phenomenon. We will seek to achieve this audacious mission by focusing on two main areas of research.

  • The Science of Emotion
  • Applied Research on Emotion

We have learned from working with emotion over the past 25 years that when we come back into our body, we feel the tension and the pain which leads us to a higher level of openness and vulnerability within ourselves, and people experience a greater sense of clarity, vitality and momentum. When people experience this power within, they automatically achieve high performance in everyday life.
